Just to clarify, once Sebastian unlocked the HWS on my account, I installed it via Native Access and without restarting or anything else was able to use my mk2 again without problems, fully functional.

Understood - but that may be a red herring. NI Hardware Connection Service is not software used by Kontrol S MK2, and there are no interactions between it. It is likely something else about the services that were running, such as NI Host Integration Agent and NI Hardware Agent.

I can confirm the same issue. It works fine with the 3.2.1.

    Matthew_NI,

Thanks for providing the link. I downloaded and installed Komplete Kontrol 3.2.1, overriding the 3.3 version.

It’s nice to have my mkii keyboard working again with KK.

Hopefully, future updates will fix the problem with version 3.3.

But just in case, I’m saving the v3.2.1 installation file.

Once again Native Instruments has forgotten about its users, and in their eagerness for the mk3 they do whatever they want with users of older hardware. I have the same problem, the driver doesn't work after installing the update, which apparently has no quality control.

I been in contact with Martin and he sent me the Hardware Connection Service and now it works, besides getting an error message in the beginning, but when I press ok, everything just works normally

@Matthew_NI some insights on this new disaster…:

I also have that problem with my S49 MK2.
Komplete Kontrol 3.3 does not recognize it… and btw it is the first problem i have with NI software since July 2022! As i always keep backups of the .iso files, i did some experiments:

At first i uninstalled the NIHostIntegrationAgent (because i saw that it has a new version 1.16) and installed the previous one that i had (version 1.12) with the hope to keep KK 3.3 (because of the precious to me, new option, VST3 parameter ID remapping)… but no, problem remained…

So, i went back to KK version 3.2.1 and things are working again.
But i wanted to check if the problem is in the Komplete Kontrol 3.3 or in NIHostIntegrationAgent 1.16. To verify this, i updated the NIHostIntegrationAgent to its latest version (1.16) to see what will happen.

Now i am working with a combination of KK previous version (3.2.1) + NIAgent current version (1.16) and things are working well, thus the bug is indeed on the KK 3.3.

Same issue. Just used Native Access to update to KK 3.3.0 and my S61 MK2 is no longer recognized. If I open Kontact 7, the keys work, but no controls.

    Also, happy to help debug.

    Macbook Pro Intel i9, 32Gb, Sonoma 14.5

    Thanks.

    What went wrong:

    • Komplete Kontrol 3.3.0 shipped on 2024-08-01.
    • Komplete Kontrol 3.3.0 broke connection for some A, M and S MK2 keyboards (MK3 was unaffected).

    Why it went wrong:

    • In certain circumstances, Komplete Kontrol 3.3.0 was inadvertently ignoring NIHardwareAgent, a service used by A/M/SMK2 keyboards.
    • This service handles Komplete Kontrol's NKS integration for those keyboards, thus causing a failure to connect for affected users.

    Severity and Symptoms:

    • The A/M/SMK2 keyboards for affected users would still have functioned as generic MIDI and DAW Controllers, but experienced a failure to connect to Komplete Kontrol 3.3.

Please accept my sincere apologies for the incident.

Komplete Kontrol 3.3 was in beta for weeks, and passed all of our own internal tests as well –both manual and automatic. The variable that had to exist for the above incident to be true didn't surface until we released en masse to a much larger audience.

    Solution:

We deployed Komplete Kontrol 3.2.1 rollback installers via the Community Forum overnight, solving the issue for any user who we were able to reach and had prepared an email to send to all users today, had the issue not been properly solved.

The good news is… Komplete Kontrol 3.3.1 contains a fix, has been deployed worldwide and should appear in your Native Access 2 accounts already, or within minutes.

    New to NI/Kontol universe. Mac StudioM2. Sonoma 14.6 KONTROL S61 M3

I have had the installation to KK 3.3.0 & now 3.3.1 fail repeatedly. I followed the Privacy & Security suggestion giving "full disk access" to the applications Native Access, NIHardwareAgent & NTKDaemon. My activity monitor show NIHardwareAgent & NTKDaemon are running.

Firmware for the Kontrol S61 M3 did successfully install and the Hardware Connection Service update also successfully installed.

How do I open a support ticket? Should I uninstall something and start over?

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Robert

Check your downloads folder to see if the Komplete Kontrol.dmg installed, you might be able to install it from that

I just checked my S49MK2 which is running with KK 3.31 on my Windows 10 machine and everything works fine. Could this be an Apple related issue?
