Why is no MIDI coming through on Logic pro?

I've been looking for hours for an answer to this question and each time it is asked there doesn't ever seem to be a solution that works.

My maschine mk3 is on midi mode but nothing comes through to Logic. It registers everything on the maschine 2 application and even registers input on Logic as a plugin but whenever I try pressing the pads no sound comes out and no note is even registered. Additionally, when I try with a different midi keyboard it does seem to register that and plays the sound.

And before you ask:

  • yes I gave full disk access to logic and everything related to native instruments.
  • I have the factory default template on it in the Controller Editor.
  • Yes I have tried navigating different octaves using the group buttons
  • Yes I have the Key mode set to manual, the source set to host, and the starting note at c3 in the group Midi settings.

I'm so tired of trying to get this figured out. Please help.

AU (the plugin standard used by Logic) doesn't allow MIDI from plugins, so when you run Maschine as a plugin, it won't send any MIDI to Logic as the pads are used to capture input inside the plugin. In order to get midi from the Maschine, must be in run in MIDI mode. Did you try that?

Yes I already have it running on MIDI mode but even with any other instrument plugins, there is absolutely no MIDI being registered or recieved in logic from the pads.

@dxgm Sorry to stumble upon your post so long after. Can you close all music apps and check if the MK3 is emitting MIDI in MIDI mode? How to Monitor the Output of a MIDI Controller
