I get RED X icon when it ry to open Standalone Kontakt
Kontakt stopped working after upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows
11. Trying to resolve the issue I downgraded back to Windows 10
(which is fully updated). I also reinstalled it several times and Kontakt
in Native Access appears correctly installed. I also
tried all the troubleshooting suggested
in:https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004169849-KONTAKT-Crashes,
but still no solution. Each time I try to open Kontakt no matter it
is in Standalone mode or within a DAW like Reaper 6 or Cubase 12 Pro
Kontack do not open and I get Icon with RED X instead.
Every other Audio related software works fine including NI Software
like Traktor DJ2, Creator Tools and all others.

What is the exact error message? Did you try opening Kontakt as “Administrator” (right click the icon choose “Run as Administrator”)

That is what I see when I try to open Kontakt no matter I try to open it as usual or as an administrator. Thanks.

Not a very informative error message…🤪
probably a good idea to put in a support ticket since you have already tried the other troubleshooting steps.

Hi, i open a ticket twice but did not even receive the automatic response message.
The issue is this: After upgrading to Windows 11, each time I click on the Standalone Kontakt icon, Kontact does not start up and only I see what you see in this photo. Is like Windows cannot find the exe. But Kontakt in Native access appears installed fine. It is a registry issue but I do not know a good workaround there, I just did the registry troubleshooting that is proposed in NI support and also I downgraded to windows 10 and reinstalled Kontakt but no solution. A Cubase or Reaper project that includes Kontack it crashes and I'm asked to kill the plugin.

Try uninstalling Kontakt again and then manually clean up relevant keys from registry. So, press Win+R and type regedit.exe, press Enter. Then navigate to and delete these keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Kontakt Application
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Kontakt Application
Then try reinstalling.

Hi, I deleted the Kontakt Application KEY in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\, but after this in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\ there is no Kontakt Application KEY .Only i see Kontakt instruments , Kontakt Factory libray and Kontakt Factory selection KEYS.

Ha, no idea what's up with this to be honest. I would roll back W11 maybe. :)

Hi, i m already back to Windows 10 and no solution

I can confirm that kontakt works on win11, sometimes only a fresh install of windows is a solution, you can also try to create another user and start kontakt there's but you have already rolled back

post a screenshot of the following Registry key... (the first 10-20 lines would be fine...)
