Komplete Kontrol S61 MK1 (1st version)

Just recently moved everything to a windows based system. Everything is good except KK S61 only works in midi mode and browser function does not work in KK software.

It does work in Mashine 2 software along with the machine studio but not anywhere else.

I have reinstalled, reset database, removed and reinstalled drivers.

any ideas?

The MK1 does not work with the latest KK software so you need to uninstall it and instead download the V2 version of KK…. which you cant do in Native Access and you have to manually download and install here:

Stupid thing is of course, even tho you likely have the MK1 registered on your account, when you decide to "update all" in Native Access it will always force you onto the unsupported V3 so as long as you have an MK1 you cannot any longer simply update all your software.

Basically it's convoluted and seemingly deliberately frustrating to hopefully force you to upgrade to the latest keyboard, tho don't expect it to work in Maschine if you do…

Another question then….If I go to update to the mashine MK3 will it not work with the keyboard?

Maschine works with the MK1 and MK2 keyboards fully (can browse and control NKS instruments and control Maschine playback) but it is just the MK3 keyboard which has no NKS integration at all, no way to control Maschine, no browsing of instruments and no direct control of NKS loaded instruments.

So only the MK3 keyboard is missing the deep functionality (only very basic midi control), essentially you have way more functionality if you own an MK1 or MK2 keyboard so you are fine, just expect to lose all that if you update to a new MK3.
