Midi Mapping X1 to Rekordbox

Having trouble with this.

I've seen a YouTube video about mapping NI controllers to Rekordbox with Controller Editor, but unfortunately, the latest version of the Controller Editor does not include the X1 MK3, even though the latest update notes says it does.

Inside Rekordbox I've mapped several functions, but they won't respond when I take it out MIDI mode, and only one responds when the controller is in MIDI mode.

Any advice?

why not keep it in midi mode?

in Midi mode only the browse function works. Not play. Not Cue. Not a hot cue. Not load a track to a deck.

    Did you map all those?

If you want to use the x1 for rekordbox, it needs to be in midi mode and then you have to map everything yourself.

X1 sends and accepts CC messages and RB sometimes expect the Note message in order to work as expected. (for example hotcues)

    Just use a different controller.

I seem to have figured it out. Yes I have to leave it in midi mode, I was assuming midi mode only for program it.

But the larger issue is when I used the Midi Learn in RB, RB would input a code (ex 9001) and then immediately the code would change to 8001. Today I thought what if I manually change all the codes back to the initial number and that worked. Bit of a pain to manually change every code both in and out, but it seems to be working.

I’ve got 30 days to see if I like using it with RB. I gave Traktor a brief try and did not like it.

Might be worth giving traktor a longer try.

People often don't like change until they get used to the be stuff.
