Old Kontakt loses sample libraries.

Hello.
I have tried to find a topic concerning the same issue I have with Kontakt, however most people seem to solve their issue with a quick relocation of the sample libraries.
Some background first:
I have been working on my solo record for the last two years (or more), meaning a lot of versions of Kontakt have passed… with no or only minor issues. From the start of these solo record projects I did use what was called Kontakt 5, later on Kontakt and now Kontakt 7. So in my Logic Pro X projects, there are a mix of (primarily) Kontakt and Kontakt 7 plugins. A lot of adjustments have been made to but I never cared about saving my own presets for everything.
I have the applications installed (duh) on my computer (local HDD). The sample libraries however, are installed on a separat music plugin SSD (always connected, no issue there).
And now the problem:
During the last couple of months all the channels using the Kontakt (labelled) plugin are suddenly missing the samples - this occurs even WITHOUT me updating any plugins. E.g. two days ago everything worked, but the morning after all samples were missing (no updates done). Meaning; when I open the Logic project all NI plugins (labelled Kontakt) are silent. When opened they say that they are missing the samples.
Worth noticing is that the NI plugins named Kontakt 7 are working and are NOT missing any samples. Also, I have not changed my computer, HDD's, all settings in Native Access are correct and so on. So, the Kontakt 7 ones are working, but the Kontakt ones are not.
When locating the samples for the Kontakt ones, the software seem to actually find the samples, BUT when the samples are located the actual plugin (e.g. Arkhis), all the settings and adjustments I've made etc are LOST, meaning the Kontakt window is completely empty (and no, I did NOT save my own preset), meaning most of my software instrument track work from the last two years are LOST and I will have to redo them again.
In some minor cases when doing the steps above, the chosen instrument (e.g. Modular Icons 2.0) are actually opened (puh… now it seems to work… or does it?), but the instrument (e.g. Modular Icons) say it isnt verified (it says "DEMO" with a red font in the top) and then that channel wont play. If I then save the project, close Logic and open it again, to see if the plugin instrument has been verified, it has… but then the instrument and all the settings on that channel is gone.
This has happened to me before, and then all of a sudden (after an update) everything worked out just fine again. However I am finishing of the last bits and pieces of my solo record and I was just days away from publishing when this now happened, screwing up about 2 years of work. Can this be solved? What should I do?
Thanks,

Hello Jacob, first of all as you have both Kontakt 5,6 and 7 it is hard to tell from which one and where this issue is happening. However, we can start trying with the Kontakt 5 as it is not compatible with the current macOS systems, this is generally causing these kind of demo issues and even though it is not promised to work totally, here is the workaround that you can try to solve this situation:
- Go to the following location:
Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences - Delete the "com.native-instruments.Guitar Rig 5.plist" file
- Restart your computer
- Download, install and open NA 3.2.3 via this link:

I hope this helps. If the issue persists, please let me know so we can start trying workarounds for the other versions of the Kontakts☺️

Hi.
I think I need to clarify. I have throughout the years combined several versions. Nowadays it's only Kontakt and Kontakt 7 though. It's always the ones only called Kontakt that sometimes seem to fail finding the samples, and when I manually try to find the samples, the instrument doesnt work until I reload the plugin - and if I reload the plugin all settings are lost.

Hello again Jacob, if the issue is caused by the Kontakt version just called KONTAKT which is the naming for the Kontakt 6 then the previous workaround for the Kontakt 5 would not be very helpful actually. If this is the case, then I would kindly suggest to try this following workaround:
Please try quitting Native Access, then deleting the "Native Access.xml" found here:
Mac HD > Library > Application Support > Native Instruments > Service Center
Then start Native Access once more.
Additionally, please make sure to enable Full Disk Access for both Native Access and the NTKDaemon:
How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOSAlso, if this would not help, please let me know so I can send you additional workarounds as well☺️
