Hi

I am new to using my pc with a guitar. (which I can’t play yet) I have tried using a Behringer guitar link with windows 10 and guitar rig 7. I have also connected my amp to use as an external speaker. The crackling sound is horrific. I am thinking or getting a external sound car. I am trying to keep my costs as low as posable. I have looked at a Remmal V8S External sound card. I was wondering if any one has had any success using one of these with windows 10 and guitar rig.

Hopefully someone has tried this before me

Thank you.

    Hello,

normally you just use the guitar link with headphones and your guitar of course, with guitar rig - does that work for you? What amp do you have, and how do you have it connected, the input of those amps is normally made for guitars and not as line input.

You should plug headphones to Behringer GuitarLink and guitar also to Behringer GuitarLink.

And choose Behringer GuitarLink as audio interface for Guitar Rig software (in GR setup page).

If you still have cracking, try to increase audio buffer size. Or try to use simple (or empty) snapshot in Guitar Rig. Some of them may be computer demanding.

Thank you for your quick reply .

I am using a small portable amp. Nothing special.

I am using the Audio headset port on the PC and going into the input port on the amp.

If I just play music (MP3/4) The sound is clean. It is only noise when the guitar link is connected.

The longer I use the guitar the noise increases.

I am beginning to wonder if my Guitar link has a bad solder join on its board.

Have you tried the guitar link with headphones, and how does that noise sounds like?

    Thank you for the answers.

The guitar link works great with headphones.

Headphones seems the best way to go.

    Agene Thanks for the help
