HELP! KK 13: Many Stock Instruments get "Your version of Kontakt is too old..."

@Soniclight @Vocalpoint Just to be clear. You don't need to have the full Kontakt 7 version to run the latest versions of NI libraries, the free Kontakt 7 Player is enough.

In NA - click on ALL (top row) and then Kontakt (secondary row) and post as screencap of that screen.
If you are good to go with KK14 - we should see 3 versions of Kontakt listed there - 5, 6 and 7.
Will wait for your response.

@Jeremy_NI - "You don't need to have the full Kontakt 7 version to run the latest versions of NI libraries, the free Kontakt 7 Player is enough."
True. That's the only way I can use my Session Guitar Electric Sunburst Deluxe (paid version of that instrument) for now.
However the problem is this, and it probably applies to other component in KK:
After I paid for KK 14 and let NI Access do its thing - there was a queue of 19 to download and install - it seems to me that Guitar Rig Pro should have either replaced KK 13's v. 6 or installed KK 14's v.7 whereby I would have both versions.
Didn't happen - v.7 is nowhere to be found. Not in NI Access or doing a search on my C:\ drive: only Guitar Rig 6.exe and Guitar Rig 6.vst3 and other related folders and files are there.
And my next response reflects this general issue.0 -
Guitar Rig 7 is not part of K14, it was released after the bundle.

To continue what I stated to @Jeremy_NI above and to what you wrote:
"In NA - click on ALL (top row) and then Kontakt (secondary row) and post as screencap of that screen.If you are good to go with KK14 - we should see 3 versions of Kontakt listed there - 5, 6 and 7."
Since KK 13 was my first version, I wouldn't expect there to be a v.5 of full Kontakt.
But as you can see in the screenshot you suggested I post here, there ain't no v.7. It's still stuck with only v. 6.8.0.And as mentioned in post directly above, ditto situation for Guitar Rig Pro - and most likely for other components I'm not aware of yet:
I just don't get it. Maybe I should contact NI support…

Is it just me - or is that not Kontakt 7 listed right there under Kontakt?
Looks to me like K7 is already installed. Might just be Kontakt 7 Player but some flavour of 7 is already there. You may need to uninstalled K7 Player first.
And for Guitar Rig 7 - that is an upgrade scenario.
GR7 was not available when K14 Standard was released back in Fall 2022.
If you want GR7 - you will need to pay for that upgrade.

Kontakt 6 will show as just Kontakt. To "turn" Kontakt 7 Player" to the full version you just need to reinstall it.

@Vocalpoint
"If you want GR7 - you will need to pay for that upgrade."
You are indeed correct for I did some online searching about this, but/and frankly, not a big deal for I only use a particular custom rig in v.6 that works just fine. GR 6 has more stuff in there than I know what to do with.
As to the ongoing full Kontakt saga…0 -
Jeremy nailed it. Simply reinstall Kontakt 7 by clicking the three dots next to it in Native Access. It will replace "player" with Full and you can rock on from there.

"Kontakt 6 will show as just Kontakt. To "turn" Kontakt 7 Player" to the full version you just need to reinstall it."
Did what you suggested, but the result is not satisfying - yet:
It only loads as the full Kontakt 7 through the "Open" option in NI Access. I checked the version and it also loads Sunburst Deluxe as you can see (which was later included in KK 14, but not in KK 13).However whether using the Kontakt shortcut that NI Access put on my Windows desktop or opening it in Cubase Pro 12, both revert back to v. 6. And Sunburst Deluxe is again not there either.
From desktop shortcut:From within Cubase:
Rebooted my OS, nuttin' changed.
So still in Confusionland.0 -
Had the same thing happen with my install during the transistion between K6 and K7. Bottom line - both will never display the same tiles etc. K6 sees only what it could see up to the existence of K7 Player - hence the reason you see just 3 tiles in 7 and a ton more in v6.
In my transition between the two - I remember having to finally bite the bullet and get rid of K6 and then tidy up ALL the libraries I was using to behave correctly in K7.
Kontakt versions installed side by side have never behaved and this is a fine example of how out of line this can get.
You will need to carefully document your use of K6 and then get down to manually correcting all this stuff if seeing everything in K7 Full is your ultimate goal.

@Vocalpoint & @Jeremy_NI
I've got to take a pause on all this for now for I need to get back to working on a project, and just deal with what-is-is for now.
But wanted to thank you both for taking the time to respond to my multiple rambles (I know I tend to write a lot, but better to provide as much info than not enough).
Until whenever next time. 😎

@Soniclight You're welcome, don't hesitate!

Well, I'm currently in email discussion with NI Support and hopefully a solution will be found.

I marked @Jeremy_NI's answer of "Kontakt 6 will show as just Kontakt. To "turn" Kontakt 7 Player" to the full version you just need to reinstall it." as the solution. So thanks for that.
But even after I had done that a few posts ago, for some reason I thought that K7 was still acting in Player mode in Cubase. Looks like I no longer have the Player version but it isn't necessary anyway when one has the full version.
So time to close this thread.
