Is Native Access Broken?

Recently this app has been nothing but trouble. It gives you zero feedback on what it is doing! Updates? No progress bar or even an indication that it is downloading anything. Asks for Login every single time it is opened (used to just stay logged in to it). And 9 times out of 10 it simply fails to log on - you just sit there looking at it wondering if it is even doing anything! This really is very poor. Please fix it!

    You might actually get some help if you included

    1. what computer and OS version you're using
    2. what version of Native Access are you using

    Thanks for the reply. Have already tried the NI support chat, to no avail (never get an answer to anything on that!)

    NI Access 3.11.1

    Window 11

    My point is that compared to how Access used to work it is very poor. And I am sure there will be many that agree. It just does not work consistently and faithfully.

    I'm on Windows 10 and have had nothing but great results from Native Access 3.11.1. Even the ones before that really never affected me, but they did affect a number of Mac users. I will say it works a little differently than previous versions, but it's been easy for me to adapt to and performs perfectly in my setup.

    I think one thing that made a big difference in my experience is understanding early on that this version of Native Access was built to the new VST3 standard, so rather than get caught up in the confusion of different VST architectures and procedural aspects, I converted everything and got rid of all my older Kontakt and Komplete Kontrol versions and concentrated only on the new platform, current Kontakt and KK versions and updated libraries, and I think it paid off by not having to muck around in all the confusion of the transition.

    Theres been a lot of reported bugs with NA which seems to affect many users in different ways. NI themselves recently wrote a thread in the forum admitting to this and have said that it's not good enough and have said their priority is to address these problems focusing on making it much more reliable.

    I'm also using windows 11 and the last update made NA totally unusable for me. I managed to get it up and running again by following steps provided by a member (not a NI employee) of this forum.

    So again I say, please stop forcing updates on me and give me an option to turn off auto updates.

    INDEED! I hope everyone pushes back on this insidious requirement which essentially takes over our computers.

    Finally it worked - after I downloaded NA and reinstalled for the 5th time.! Managed to update everything and even got Komplete Kontrol working after months of not using it (because it would hang while running the plugin scanner). I have no idea why it is working now and didn't work before - but I will take the win and put it down to luck!

    I agree with others here - NO to auto-updates. Other professional software I use (such as AVID and Premiere) allow me to stick with whichever version I find to be the most stable on my system.
