Is there any way to get the KK keyboard to send arpeggios to an external hardware synth?

Arp doesn't seem available in midi mode, though it's not very clear from the manual if there is a way to get it to work.

Also wondered if there might be a way to work around this using the KK VST and routing in Ableton?

The Arp and Scale functions are not available in MIDI mode, but there is indeed a workaround in Ableton: Ableton Live Guide: Sending MIDI from the Komplete Kontrol Plug-in
