Traktor Pro as Ableton Link Master

hi,

I want to sync the master tempo via Ableton Link to my lights control.

When activating Link in Traktor Pro, the Auto mode which gets the Master tempo from the active deck gets disabled and there is no sync to deck tempo anymore.

how is it possible to use Ableton Link and still benefit from the tempo sync from active deck?

To my knowledge there is no solution using Ableton Link at this time. With Link it seems impossible to me that a track deck ist Master.

But if I am wrong: I am very interested in a solution to this too. I would love to sync my Maschine I got this week via link with Traktor Pro. But as I am DJing with Traktor Scratch and usually the tempo varies during my sets I need to have the current playing deck as Master. Before getting it I hadn‘t even the idea that this isn‘t working this way. It was self-evident for me that this is possible. For me it makes the Ableton Link feature in Traktor effectively useless and really see no purpose in it.

For your lighting system: Maybe there is a solution with MIDI. You can send Traktors MIDI clock - if you do this a deck can still be master. Another reason I don‘t understand that this isn‘t working with Link.

They're aware of people wanting this functionality. I've had a couple of conversations and it's on their radar, but it will come after the current road map is fully implemented.

It relies on the codebase of Traktor being updated before they can figure out a way to do well.

Due to the way beatgrids and the master clock has been built in the codebase, it's not quite as simple as you might think.

Serato's implementation of this is still quite poor to be honest.

I use midi right now, but network midi of macOS is not really reliable and I have times where it stuck some seconds
