output-effects in default configuration

Dear members of the Kontakt-forum,

does anybody know a solution for the following problem, please?

I run Kontakt 7 (latest update but Kontakt 5&6 as well, makes no difference) STANDALONE (not as plug in) on 3 different PCs (all Windows 11) and do have the same problem everywhere: Whenever I load&define a specific effect (to be precise: I just need 1 convolution reverb in the stereo out channel but this makes no difference of course) in the outputs section (Channel Insert Slots) and store the multi as "default", the effect is gone again when I restart Kontakt and is not loaded together with the other default settings. Is there any solution that makes it possible to add the Channel Inserts Slots to a default? The effect is also lost, when I store the output configuration and re-load the corresponding outputs-configuration user-preset after a restart of Kontakt. (Same result on all machines as well.) Thank you very much!

@lumed You can't save a multi with specific outputs effetcs but you can save the general output/master section. For this you'll need to open the Master section, add the effect that you want:

Then save the output configuration, either for all fromats or just the plugin version needed:

The output configuration is now set for Kontakt in general. Every time you'll open the app or the plug-in the chosen effect will be there.

    I hope this was helpful.

Yes you can. In Kontakt 5 anyway. You can save your settings together with the instruments as a multi, instead of a "default". In Kontakt 5 this preserves your output settings and effects. (but remember you can have only one stereo audio output in Standalone)

Thank you so much for the quick answers. Jeremy we had tried this already of course but unfortunately saving the output configuration is not working this way on our machines. Whenever I save it as a default for "all formats" and "standalone" as well, the effect is gone again as soon as I restart Kontakt. It really drives me a little bit crazy meanwhile, I have been in touch with the NI support in 2021 for the first time regarding this topic (support+id2724126) but the problem did not change since then. Anyhow thank you for the idea and detailed explanation.

If you're looking for a template, and all else fails, you can save an empty multi (i.e. no instruments) with your output effects settings, as "default.nkm".

That's really strange, so you have the same issue with Kontakt 7 that you had in Kontakt 6? I still have my reverb when I open Kontakt 7:

Have you tried what @stephen24 proposed?

If none of this helped, I'll get in touch with you by email and will forward your case to a Kontakt specialist.

Hallo Jeremy, sorry for the long break it was a very exhausting time. Unfortunately the problem is still unsolved and YES, I still have this problem with Kontakt 7 but I can add a detail: By accident I found that only the Convolution Reverb causes the problem. All other effects that I have tested now can be stored and are available when Kontakt 7 is reopened, only the Convolution Reverb is always gone. It would be nice to get in touch once more with a Kontakt specialist, we have discussed the topic in the past already on this level, but maybe could find a solution now which would be VERY helpful. Best regards and THANK YOU!

Would you like to try this multi and see if it works in Kontakt 5/6/7 with you? It's an empty multi with convolution in the output. (I've changed the file type to .txt to be accepted by this forum. Rename it "cheese3.nkm" before you use it)
