Headphone and interface trouble

The interface I use to power my microphone and headphones is the Native Instruments Komplete Audio 1, and I want to connect my gaming headset (I'll be switching to studio headphones soon, don't worry).

However, this isn't working as intended. When I plug the 6.35mm jack into the headphone jack of the interface, I get sound, which seems great. But my system stops receiving sound from the XLR line input until I disconnect the headphones. I've seen recommendations about "routing" the outputs and inputs correctly, but I'm unfamiliar with this term and unsure how to fix it. I hope someone in this great community can help me with this dilemma. (Gain and input/host knobs were adjusted correctly before taking this picture)

Thanks for your awesome help! I managed to find out that, the issue was not on me, nor on the interface. The issue was voicemeeter, that somehow got everything messed up. After shutting down voicemeeter everything worked awesome. There is just a single problem, i have to use voicemeeter, i run a ton of vst plugins via lighthost. Is there a fix that lets me use voicemeeter again? Or can you recommend me a simmilar software like voicemeeter (Paid or free) that has patch insert features?

Please make sure all volumes are set to low or off 1st…

Make sure the big knob on top is set to off or very low volume. Put the input / host knob in the middle(pointing up). Make sure knob next to arrow is all the way down. Put headphones on 1st then hit play. Slowly start to turn the knob next to the red arrow clockwise (right). You should start to hear something from th headphones. If your planning on recording something your going to want to play with the input / host knob to how you want the input to be heard in the headphones during recording. That should get you there.
