Afterouch and MPE control of NI Synths on Maschine.

Hi all,

Sorry for the naive question. I am about to buy a Machine Mk3 and a Microfreak to travel with me when I work away so I can make music on the go and also as the core of my live system.

The Microfreak touch surface supports aftertouch, I'm aware the pads on Machine don't. If I am using the micro freak as a midi controller for instruments I've loaded into the machine software that support AT or MPE will I get that functionality?

Anything I need to know?

I’m aware it doesn’t. What I’m asking is,,, do any of the bundled instruments and synths etc support it. And if so, if I’m using a midi controller with aftertouch (like the microfreak) to control those instruments will that work automatically without me needing to go into the computer at all.

Yes they all support at least mono aftertouch (Eg Massive, Massive X), and some Kontakt instruments even poly aftertouch (although maybe not MPE) but not when loaded in Maschine, which you said you were wanting to do

Impermanence

You have to load them in another DAW to have aftertouch or MPE. Even though NI has hinted the support is coming, I wouldn’t hold my breath.
