It doesn't work that way. Front panel patching was introduced as an extension of the internal construction wires between instruments and macros. Those are not saved in snapshots.

The feature was introduces for Blocks and makes more sense in the context of the 'Rack' layer which was introduced at the same time. Racks do store the wires between instruments (Blocks are instruments), and only store references to the instruments, so they can be a very small file size.

The idea is that they can be stored by a DAW in it's own save format, so you get a Reaktor based virtual modular with front panel patching where the patches can be managed within the DAW save files.

Front panel patching outside of Blocks/Racks is something of an afterthought, it's there because "why not", but doesn't have a strong feature set. That's why it doesn't get much use.

It is possible to create bespoke patching systems that can save in snapshots, there are some in the user library, but that is a expert/pro level project
