Problem with MIDI controllers Pro Tools

I migrated from an Intel Mac mini to a M2 version and have troubles setting up the midi controllers. Under type I am able to choose Komplet Kontrol but nothing changes or become available under Receive from and Send to. See picture.
Can anyone suggest a way out of this problem.
I have updated the Native Instrument App and all things are updated there.
Thank you.

    Hello friend,
I ended up buying a Thunderbolt 4 dock and now everything is up and running. :)
I should have bought the Mac mini pro to get more ports in the first place.
    Thank you.

Can you see the ports in other programs? Maybe in the Audio MIDI Setup app? How are you connecting the keyboard?

It works perfectly for me on an M1 Max so it’s definitely possible.

    Hi Oscar,
    Thank you for responding! :)
I tried putting the midi chord from the keyboard directly into the computer (and not through a dongle) and it worked.
Hopefully I will find some more stable solution, since I need to use the dongle for other things, eg. a webcam.
The other port on the M2 is occupied by the UA Apollo that will also only work if plugged into the main usb-c port on the computer.
Has anyone experienced the same and found a workaround?

I have the Apollo, the keyboard and a bunch of stuff including a monitor connected through a thunderbolt 4 dock and it’s been working great. It also charges the laptop all through a single thunderbolt cable.

But I think the keyboard should be happy with any decent powered usb hub. Maybe your dongle has a power input.

Great to hear that you got it working at your place!
Could you possibly tell me the name/make of your thunderbolt 4 dock? :)

Sure thing! It's the ICY BOX Thunderbolt 4, it's a bit of a weird one but it was "cheap" and it can deliver more power than the other alternatives I could find.

Are you on Pro Tools 2023.12 or higher?

@torben_westergaard Did you make any progress on that topic?

A few things to check and try:

Do ProTools and Komplete Kontrol have full disk access? How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS

If you go to the hardware settings on the keyboard, is it set to MIDI 1.0 or MIDI 2.0?

If you choose "none" or another controller in the type, power off the keyboard, power it on again and select the Kontrol MK3 again, does the integration finally work?

You may also be experiencing a USB-C issue that can affect certain computers. The issue results in random disconnects or data dropouts when using USB-C peripherals and the only reliable workaround is to use a USB-C hub to break the problematic communication layer.
