Hi,

I do videoconferencing on Zoom and play improvised music during my sessions. I use the Focusrite 4th generation 4i4 as an audio interface. I have not been able to have Zoom recognize my playing. It recognizes music I play via the 1/4" ins, but of course Kontrol connects to the computer via USB and the computer connects to the interface also via USB. Has anyone succeeded in playing virtual instruments live via Kontrol through Zoom? I play but there is no sound. Thanks!

I can't post links here yet but look on YouTube for a video titled "Zoom for Musicians: How to stream your DAW" by Guy Michelmore.

Thanks for that suggestion. I am not, however, using my DAW. I did get tech support from Focusrite and it was very helpful. I use the loopback feature, but in addition I had to right-click on the Focusrite icon on the task bar and authorize showing the loopback microphone, which I was then able to select right in Zoom. That's great. It doesn't answer my question of additionally adding my voice, but at least I can play the instrument. Thank you for your consideration.

It really doesn't matter whether you're using a DAW or just using the standalone Kontakt, it's exactly the same principle. You receive MIDI input through a direct USB connection from your keyboard and the audio output from your Kontakt library (or DAW) is directed through a USB audio interface.

I have a simple arrangement just using a Blue Yeti mic which is used for my voice and for the output of my Kontakt instrument or DAW going to my studio monitors. But the audio output from the Blue Yeti is a simple audio plug and could be directed to an audio interface used for streaming. The Yeti mic has a mute button which mutes the microphone but not the audio from my PC so I can eliminate background noise if necessary.
