Hello all,

I've been experiencing this issue for the past 2 months on Kontakt 7 within Logic Pro X and Cubase where I load an instrument then sometimes get this grey window that won't go away even for hours and makes the DAW unresponsive. Anyone else having this issue?

I'm not having this exact issue but Kontakt 7 is unusable inside Ableton Live 11 or 12- if I use K7 and try to save in any version of Live it becomes unresponsive have to force quit.

@mattwmusic What is your operating system? What kind of Mac is it? Laptop, mini, iMac? Intel or M1/M2/M3? Are you using external monitors? If so how many and which models?

You mention the issue happens only sometimes, is there a pattern or is it totally random? Is it only with certain libraries? If you open Komplete Kontrol as a plug-in instead do you also get this?

@mdotstrange What's your operating system? Can you give more details?

I use K7 and try to save in any version of Live it becomes unresponsive.

Do you mean when you save the Ableton project, when you save a Kontakt preset or instrument? Can you reproduce the issue with the Komplete Kontrol plug-in instead?

The issue happens when I try to save a Live Project(or open one) when Kontakt 7 is in the Live project.

I can load and use Kontakt 7 in Live, I can load libraries, play them etc- the issue is when I try to save the Live project with Kontakt in it.

Live saves/works as normal with every other Plugin including Kontakt 6.

Ok, I see on your profile that you're on Windows 10. Can you try and reset the database?

    Reinitialize the Kontakt Database

    1. Click the Windows start button at the bottom left of your screen.
    2. Type "%localappdata%" and click the option that appears.
    3. Navigate to the Native Instruments folder.
    4. Then, delete the following folder: Kontakt 7
    5. Start Kontakt in standalone mode (not in your DAW)

Make sure to run Ableton and Kontakt as admin: How to Run a Program as an Administrator

If after all that the issue persists, can you try to save a project to a different location/drive on your computer, like your desktop? Does it still crash?
