Finale (Notation SW) to DAW to run Choir Omnia?

My name is Jose,

I am a Finale user and the ideal but unhappy with the choir sounds I am getting.

The ideal situation for me is to continue using finale, export an audio file into an enviroment that could access choir omnia.

Can this be done if I also purchase Ableton?

I think that you export the midi from Finale and open it in the DAW, then assign the VST instruments ?

Exporting Finale Notation to MIDI and Ableton Live can use midi files ! (there is also some Finale for Drummers : Converting Finale Notation to MIDI videos that goes deeper into converting to midi at Finale on Youtube)

I have no knowledge or experience with Finale, but from just reading their description it doesn't appear they have any facilities for converting the score to MIDI, which is what you would need to drive Choir Omnia on Ableton or any other DAW. There may be separate utilities for doing those conversions out there.

In case that you don't know then Choir Omnia is a library for Kontakt 7 (VST3 plugin and stand-alone app) (Free KONTAKT PLAYER v. 7.0.0 and higher, or KONTAKT v. 7.0.0 and higher.)

I do not know if there are limitations for the use of Choir Omnia with Kontakt 7 Player but I would just like to point out that if your are going to buy e.g. Choir Omnia and Kontakt 7, which both are included in KOMPLETE 14 COLLECTOR'S EDITION, then you will not have to buy that many more apps and libraries before it would have been cheaper to just have bought the full KOMPLETE 14 COLLECTOR'S EDITION (prices is particular advantageous at sales ! 😉)

Or just Link empty pads to group 1 as SEND and one with the instrument is Receive.

Now press empty Pad and choose which notes and on which octave they will be, this way you can trigger specific expressions or FX but you can create Costume Chords 😃 .

I do this all the time! If your Finale score is complete, go to File ] Export As Midi. Then import that midi file into your DAW. Load up your favorite plug-ins from there.

If there is an aspect of your score you don't want, simply delete it before exporting. Undo the deletion afterwards.
