Problems with Native Access: Kontakt in demo and invalid download location

Hey lovely people,

Since a couple of days I have a problem with Native Access. It refuses to download new libraries and tells me the download location is invalid... Also in my DAW I can't run Kontakt (6 or 7) anymore. It tells me I have to activate my license, probably because of the same problem with Native Access. It might have something to do with my system settings, but I really don't know.

Some things I've tried so far:

-I made sure Native Access and NTK daemon have 'full disk access'

-I deleted Native Access and NTK daemon and redownloaded and reinstalled Native Access

-I copied and pasted a command (from NI's support page) in my terminal that was supposed to help.

I'm really desperate, because I'm working on some time sensitive projects and I can't open any projects that use Kontakt libraries, which is basically all of them.

Many thanks for helping me!!

@keesvd What's your operating system? Regarding Kontakt 6&7 showing in demo, have you checked this article? My Products Are Showing As DEMO in Native Access

For the invalid path, have you checked this article? Native Access Error: "Path is invalid"

If that doesn't help can you share your installation loaction paths in Native Access?

I'm using mac OS Sonoma 14.4. I have downgraded tot the light version of Native Access now and that seems to give me a workaround. But it's giving me new problems too. I recently bought Session Percussionist, but it doesn't show up. Your colleague sent me a manual download link for that library, but as it doesn't show up in Native Access, I still don't know how to add it to Kontakt. Native Access has given me a lot of headache the past couple of days... I checked both articles by the way, but they don't solve my problems I'm afraid...

Do you know how to manually add a library in Native Acces (Light version)? I downloaded it manually. It doesn't show up when I add the serial. Thanks for your trouble by the way

@keesvd Do you mean you are still using Native Access 1? Can you check what version exactly? Some newer products will simply not show in this legacy version. Please install this version: https://www.native-instruments.com/en/specials/native-access-2/

Actually, my problems began with Native Access 2. After purchasing Session Percussionist and Echo Versions, I tried installing them. But Native Access 2 told me there was a problem with my download location. And then all of a sudden, I started having problems with my other libraries and Kontakt itself. Some of my libraries disappeared from Native Access 2 and when I ran Kontakt in my DAW, I got a prompt that it wasn't activated anymore. I assumed there was some issue with Native Access' permissions after updating or something. So I checked your support articles (including the ones you sent me) and tried a lot of things. Making sure Native Access 2 and NTKDaemon have full disk access, deleting Native Access 2 and reinstalling it, stuff like that. But nothing seemed to help. Then, as a desperate measure, I downgraded to Native Access 1 (1.14.1) and my problems went away. The only remaining problem is that I can't find Session Percussionist anywhere. I would prefer a working version of Native Access 2 on my computer, but at this point I'm really hesitant...

I've had a similar issue, though running on Windows 10. Half of my already installed products no longer showed installed, Kontakt would only run in Demo mode, and Native Access did not show it was installed. Any effort to install resulted in the message it was an "invalid location." I temporarily "fixed" it by uninstalling Native Access. NTK Daemon, and deleted the folders associated with Native Access. Rebooted, and then reinstalled Native Access. Then suddenly everything worked. Briefly. But after a couple of reboots, it reverted back to the same issue. Hopefully someone figures out a fix for this soon.

There were a server site issue that has been fixed . If a computer reboot does not fix your issue the there is the standard trouble shooter :

    Log out of NA

Then try the following Trouble shooter here : My Products Are Showing As DEMO in Native Access , especially '2. Your activation fails because of corrupted or missing activation tokens' and '3. You have corrupted XML files' (delete both NA XML and offending Kontakt product XML)

Then restart computer and log in again to see if that helps
