Lighting control software to go with Traktor Pro?
Hello all
I'm a happy user of Traktor Pro with Kontrol S2, and i use it for DJing in house parties in a fully amateur capacity
I'm planning to invest into a lighting setup for said parties, and i would like to ask y'all for advice on a lighting control software that would go well with Traktor DJ Pro. My main requirements are
- should be easy to learn and use (I am am amateur one man show, will be DJing and LJing at the same time)
- should be able to analyse the program output from Traktor Pro (can be virtual, can be through an audio input) and control lights according to audio levels on bass, mid, hi, etc
- Should be able to load a lighting setup based on some kind of trigger from Traktor (MIDI?)
- Should have optional hardware control surface
- Should be priced at prosumer levels, i cant afford pro lighting desks and software
Appreciate your help and advice in advance

The easy and cheap way:
Use the Sound to Light control of your lamps - most have such a program on board
The better and more expensive way:
Soundswitch Lighting - works with Traktor Midi Clock Beat-precisely with preset or self-created autoloops. But requires some training and basic DMX knowledge.
Is a software solution, DMX dongle costs 35 + 10 subscription plan monthly.
Is either controlled by PC or with any cheap midi controller or the in-house Control One. It's best to visit the Soundswitch website.

Soundswitch allows autoscript to presets for Serato, Virtual DJ and Engine only.
With Traktor you can “only” use autoloops. But you can build them yourself according to your taste or use the prefabricated ones in SSW.
The autoloops then follow the beats via the midi clock in Traktor.

Thank you viper9711! I actually looked up Soundswitch before posting this question, didn't see Traktor in the supported DJ software section. I can teach myself the DMX basics, no biggie. Do you know if it could be possible to trigger certain scenes/presets in Soundswitch from Traktor via Midi Clock? Thanks a lot for your help again

Do Soundswitch and Traktor need to run on the same computer? How do we get the MIDI clock from Traktor into Soundswitch, via a virtual device or a physical one?
Thank you

Yes, Traktor and SSW must run on the same PC.
You have to create a new "Generic Device" under Traktor in the Controller Manager and enter SSW as the target - SSW will then receive the MIDI command. In the "External Sync" menu you have to switch Midi on.

Please do not use the "Link" function - SSW only receives the master BPM.
It receives the respective deck BPM via MIDI / setting the clock in Traktor to "Auto"
