Could you give us more context? Is it coming from an instrument you're making? Where are these samples coming from? Can you tell us step by step what leads to this error message?

Also, for some reason, when I check the info on one of these files, I see the original name of the file ending with .gig and not .wav. Were these files converted?

    Hi Jeremy.

    Thanks for this.

Its quite weird that its a .gig file but its actually a .wav on the surface!?

This all happened when I was batch resaving.

I think these files were converted from a dvd via EXS24 and then converted into Kontakt instruments using ChickenSys Translator7.

I wonder if I could somehow convert these .gig files or maybe it doesnt matter because they load fine - I was just running a huge batch resave.

    What are your thoughts?

gig files were from gigasampler/gigastudio if memory serves

some gig files were copy protected and could not be converted

EXS24 used to let you convert some gigafiles. This was one of them.

They do seem to be WAV files, I can open them here in Adobe Audition, Maschine and Winamp.

The gig name is just a Title tag in the file.

@PK The DJCould these gigafiles be copyright protected? Do you still have Kontakt 5? Kontakt 5 could handle all these formats.
