Komplete 8 Installed synths still wanting activation

Got a new desktop. Moved my ext drive that contained K8 from my old computer and got everything activated via NA. Live 12 Suite is my DAW. All plugins show in the L12 browser, but ask to be activated when I insert one to a track. Massive, Battery, FM8, Absynth 5 etc. ask this. Kontakt works fine, as does Reaktor. In NA, all instruments show Installed and I can open them outside of Live with no issue.

Any thoughts?

    I accidentally solved it. I decided again to turn off VST3 in Prefs, turn it back on and rescan. After that, it made a duplicate of each NI plugin in the Ableton Plugins folder. The first one in line works and the second wants to be activated. When I tried this before it didn’t work. Why it worked this time is a mystery to me. So for now I’ll just select the first option in the listing and hopefully not run into any problems.

    Only things that I could come up with were this (not sure if it will help)

    Have you tried a force plugin rescan ? : here Hold down the [Alt/Option] key and click Rescan or here How to rescan plugins in Ableton Live

    General use : VST Plug-in Administration in Ableton Live (Windows) [VIDEO]

    And How to reset Live , please notice that I have no idea if you could loose some settings , projects or data by doing this so please backup accordingly prior to using any reset !

    I’ve rescanned the plugin directory many times. Like I said, everything shows up in the plug-ins list but they want to be activated. So odd. NA doesn’t prompt me to install anything and allows me to open each instrument in stand alone mode. So that makes me think everything is above board. Just curious that only Kontakt and Reaktor will load inside of the DAW.

    Here’s something else that’s odd. This morning I opened Cubase 5 and all the Komplete instruments work fine. The only problem is that none of the presets are loading. Everything is a default patch. So….might be a Live 12 bug? I use the same pathway and directory for both Cubase and L12.

    @Esport How did you install Kontakt, Reaktor and all NI applications? Did you use Native Access?

    Are you running Ableton as admin? How to Run a Program as an Administrator

    If you click on the NI logo in Kontakt (and other plug-ins) what version does it show? Is it the same as the standalone version?

    Native Access shows all plugins are active. Komplete works fine in Cubase, except the presets are all missing. Gotta figure that out next. Komplete worked fine in Live 11. It wasn’t until I upgraded to 12 Suite that it started asking for each instance to be activated. I’m currently running 12 as admin.

    I’ve tried everything I can think of to fix this problem. Anybody have any suggestions? I need to be able to use the NI plug-ins for some Ableton projects and I’m dead in the water until this is resolved!

    Uninstalled and reinstalled NA and same result. Everything works fine in Cubase but asks for activation in L12. Don’t know what else to try.
