Help me build a (simple) compressor.

Hi everyone.

I'm trying something out in Core. A super basic audio compressor. Something (maybe the whole thing πŸ˜‰) is wrong with it, though. Because apart from the Output Gain control, nothing is happening to the signal. I think i have the basics of compression down, but at this point i can't be sure.

Anyone willing to check my homework?

This is what i have so far:

The Threshold knob goes from max 0 to min 60.

Ratio goes from 1.5 to 10.

Attack goes from 0.0001 seconds to 0.03 seconds (0.1 milliseconds... 30 milliseconds).

Release from 0.1 to 1.6 seconds.

And output gain from -20 to 20.

File:

Many thanks in advance!

Greets,

Bolle

I think i got it. Threshold control should go from 0 to -60 instead.

EDIT: Got it. Still a few niggles to sort out, but at least i got it working.

You can follow further progress in the 'GUI design, adventures in Blender' thread.

Not Reaktor specific but I would recommend increasing the range of attack times. I use slow attack times of between 70 and 90ms all the time.
