Upgrade and downgrade ???? 😒
Hi guys.
After a while out of Production. My last Mac was siera. That died.. and I have complete 11.
After doing some research I purchased a refurbed 2021 MacBook pro M1 Pro
I thought that this would be running Ventura 13. But turns out it's on Sonoma 14 . Maybe a lil bonus from the refurbers.
So. Some elements of K11 aren't installing. Realtor, kontakt, massive, guitar rig 5 (?) and a couple more things.
I'm booked in to chat with apple support and thinking I may downgrade back to Ventura I believe it is. Then K11 might work better. Although it still might be too old?
In which case an upgrade to K14 might be needed.
Anybody have any thoughts on this.? And experience with k11 or k14 working on Ventura.
Thanks in advance guys.

I only knows very little about Mac , but these are the easy pickings , also you might have to turn on the Show Legacy app in Native Access , further more Native Access will not show products not compatible with your OS - there is a discussion about that somewhere.

Hi poor fellow.
Thank you for your time. This is a mine field eh...
I'm not nearly techy enough for any of that right now.
I recon I'm going to upgrade to komplete 14 And see about downing the system to Ventura first.
As far as I can see k14 should run on Ventura.
It's been a good 2 years or so as far as I can see.
Seeming like it's always a nightmare when a new os comes out, everyone nervously thinking about upgrading.. 🤣
Thanks.

You are very welcome !
If you are not already conscious about it, then take notice of the difference between the updates and the upgrades ! You can see the difference at the compare prices at the compare page ! But update is from same product tier to same tier of newer version and upgrade is from a lower product tier to a higher product tier of same or newer generation !

Ventura is still available from the Apple App Store for free. I would try down grading before you shell out more money for upgraded NI software. It would be worth trying Komplete 11 with that first. Then if that wasn't successful you could think about upgrading to 14.

i purchased a m1 mac mini 16gb back near xmas time....
i end up downgrading the OS right back to Big Sur 11.2.3... for the reasons of being able to sideload apps from the IOS app store, which basically would not work after upgrading beyond 11.2.3...
as such i have sideloaded many music based apps i have purchased as a result to have them onboard my m1 mini...
i wouldnt advise doing this downgrade with any of the m1 macbook's..... as there is a known issue with the battery not charging... or so i have read... *shrugs... but as the m1 mini's dont have that problem of dealing with batteries, thus its not an issue
another issue with downgrading back to OS 11.2.3 is the fact, applications that require OS 12.x upward will not work, unless specified... so weighing up the bigger picture in terms of compatibility needs to be considered..
it has been quite good in respect of Native instruments software.... in that native access still working installing NI applications havent presented any major issues...
so from the perspective of downgrading OS's its not entirely a bad thing!
these are the versions im on with 11.2.3

As far as K14 and Ventura goes, have K14 UCE and Im running Ventura and for what Ive tried so far in the huge library, all is well. The only problem Im battling is to get an earlier library installed that I mistakenly updated as I dont want to update my Kontakt 7 but thats unrelated here.
