Kontrol S61 MK3 not accepting serial number

Right out of the box, the S61 MK3 did not work as it would not accept the serial number. This is bad sign and a great disappointment. I have reviewed all the information I can get via the NI website and have submitted the problem to their Technical Staff, if in fact there is one.

When one buys a $850 + piece of hardware you expect it to work, but for all the interesting qualities of NI, they don't seem to be able to get things integrated so they work smoothly, even thought that is what the company is supposed to do. There is too much software mumbo jumbo and it only works maybe 60% of the time.

I will return this unit if I cannot get it resolved over the weekend. Perhaps the next one will work, then again it may be a systemic problem. I appears that I am not the only one having this problem.
