Problem with Maschine MK3

Hi,

After switching to another computer (wich USB port is checked and ok) the Maschine MK has stopped working.

The unit is not recognized, and after power up the unit only shows "Maschine" on the left display and "Production and Performance System" on the right side.

Can someone direct me how to troubleshoot. Should there be something else popping up on the displays even if the data communication over the USB would be dead?

I suspect that the USB interface has a problem since the NI:s firmware updater is not able to find the unit...

BTW - is there a voltage tolerance specification for the extra DC-input? Would it be ok to run the unit from a +12V@2A DC PSU (center-plus)?

Grateful for any comments, I am not very familiar with the product, just trying to help a friend. The warranty has already expired and I'm an experienced EE.

Cheers,

Christian

Do you have the Maschine software running on the new computer? This sounds like normal behavior when the Maschine software is not running.

I wouldn't worry about trying to power it with the DC connector. If the screen is showing what you described then it's getting power. If the USB port is defective then it kinda doesn't matter if you supply external power or not, as the MK3 has to connect to a computer to function.

Are you running on a Windows PC, in which case have you installed the Maschine software and drivers on the new computer? Not sure about the power supply tolerance, but lower voltage can't hurt it as long as the polarity is correct. It shouldn't be needed with a MK3 anyway as it works off the bus power.
