Kontakt 7 View

Okay - Kontakt newbie here. I get that the view has changed and I may be wading into a whole raft of other issues, but am I missing a really simple switcheroo?

The control bar I'm seeing in the tutorials is this

The one I'm seeing in Kontakt is this

Is this a thing I need to work with, or can I change to the earlier version ...

The UI indeed changed with version 7.7, resulting in the icons being removed and their options now being listed under File, Library, ... etc. Unless you downgrade to a pre-7.7 version, the icons are gone for good.

they are clearly using K6 in the tutorials.

If you mean that you want to use the old view inside k7, just click the library, then click on the View and click Side Pane.

Should solve the problem.

Don't know if that helps at all. What I was hoping to get were the useful icons

That appear to the right of the word KONTAKT, and which seem to do a lot of the heavy lifting. If these have been subsumed into the new K7 then fine, but a ton of the instructions I see in the NI tutorials (even for K7) seem to have these showing ...

I have the exact same problem. Just purchased crossgrade to full Kontakt 7.8.1 running in Windows 10 pro. The interface in the main opening window - the new fancy library browser view is not what I'm seeing anywhere else "as advertised" with the icons of the "books" "floppy disk", etc just to the right of the Kontakt logo. As Waggerman showed it just has the words "File" "Library" and "View" and the import content icon (gear) is down to the left of the volume slider. This is not affected by view choices, adding/removing the side pane, other settings, etc. The interface looks like an old version. I'm viewing on a 4K 100% color gamut monitor in the highest display resolution. Perhaps this interface is not supported above certainly display settings? In my experience the Kontak interface can be a bit wonky. Will try futzing with the graphics.

I am glad for this post also .I also watched tutorials with the old view.Are there any videos with the new view.Also glad for responses I thought my k7 download was wrong .I AM STILL fuddling around trying to navigate

I feel your pain, William !!!

However I would say that the samples themselves are brilliant - it's a great tool. It's just frustrating when the instruction videos are not made available as the software is altered and updated. Hey Ho ...
