If I'm running a Windows Hyper-V VM can I download NI Access and install Kontakt 7? I want to practice using Creator Tools in a VM so it doesn't matter if I make mistakes.

You can install it and it'll run OK. You might have problems with the audio, but it might work with enhanced session mode or audio redirection via RDP. I think VMWare might be better for audio, I'll give it a try later if I get a moment.

I just gave this a try, it seems to work pretty well under Hyper-V. The latency on the audio is horrible, but it does work. It seemed marginally faster over RDP than the VMC connection from inside the Hyper-V manager.

Thanks for trying! I ended up trying it myself and it said I didn’t have enough memory. It needs 4 gigs of ram and I only have 8.

You should be able to adjust the amount of RAM used by the VM though?

You could also try Oracle's VirtualBox.

I thought about virtual box. I’ll give it a try.

You could always try Windows 10 rather than 11? Lower memory requirements and for just noodling around it'd probably work fine.
