Native Access will activate Kontakt 4

I have just changed computer (Windows 10) and have installed and activated Kontakt 4 with no problems. After installing the Kontakt 4 programme from disc, I opened Native Instruments (latest version). I enabled "Legacy Products" under Options. Kontakt 4 did not appear in any list but I clicked "Add a serial number" and put in the K4 serial number from the back of the package. K4 activated at once.

Hmm - interesting for sure - but most odd since K4 is not even listed here:

Legacy Installers for Native Instruments Software Products – Native Instruments (native-instruments.com)

And you say "after I installed the program" - which program? NA or K4 (via it's original installer?)

Could have swore that K4 was a "Service Center" era product and did not even qualify for activation via any version of Native Access (v1 OR v2)

Which version of NA are you using?

Curious to know your exact steps.

There have been a number of people posting here who are having difficulties reactivating K4, and there has been no firm advice given. As you say, K4 doesn't appear in either the yes list or the no list on the page you quoted. I did this successful experiment to satisfy my curiosity. I see also that all the updates are available on the NI website.

Things get buried very quickly on this forum, so it would be nice if you and your colleagues could comment on this post from time to time to keep it near the front page, so it could be spotted more easily by somebody who might find it useful as well as interesting.

(Just say "Cool" or something like that).
