Komplete Kontrol asks to activate Every Time

Every time I try to run Komplete Kontrol it brings up the window giving me the option to run the demo, buy or activate. This happens in Logic Pro, Live and running the standalone. If I choose activate and log in, it allows me to use the plugin, but some of the individual instruments don't load properly (Battery 4, for instance, runs fine if I load it as a separate plugin, but if I run it under Komplete Kontrol the samples don't load.) Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I ultimately solved my problem by installing the new version of Native Access (version 2). I'd been running version 1. (you'll know when you have the new version because they've changed its icon.) The new version said Komplete Kontrol wasn't installed. Turns out that this is because there's also a new version of Komplete Kontrol that apparently can't be installed until you're running the new version of Native Access. I installed the new Komplete Kontrol and the repeated requests for activation stopped. One caution, though: I have two workstations and am using an old Komplete Kontrol S49 Mk1 as my controller on one of them and an S61 Mk2 on the other. after the update, the S61 worked fine, but none of the Komplete Kontrol functions on the S49 worked. Turns out that the s49 Mk1 is no longer supported in the new version of Komplete Kontrol. Luckily, NI provides an earlier version of Komplete Kontrol that can be installed over the new one. I did that on my S49 workstation and now both keyboards work fine. My problem with Battery4 factory samples not loading was solved by reinstalling the factory library.

I had major problems with Komplete Kontrol, and after an update, I was back where I started. I'd recommend going into Native Access, there's a help topic with links to all the folders KK is in to delete everything, you can also use an app called App Cleaner that finds half of them, and then you can check by manually going through and deleting them.

    then reinstall from Native Access.

PITA but it fixed my problems

@jfhallst What is your operating system? What version of Komplete Kontrol are you using and what version of Native Access?

Do Komplete Kontrol, Logic and Native Access all have full disk access? How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS

You must identify where you install files are. This issue most frequently occurs when your program shortcuts are launching from old install locations and essentially loading up an old executable that has been superseded with an update somewhere else on your system. I would check the install paths in Native Access; then go to that location and manually launch the KK executable file. If it works, then you know your shortcut is pointing to an old file. Check the path of the shortcut; delete the old files; and redirect to correct location.

I'm having this problem as well - any solution would be great. I've just reinstalled all my NI instruments onto a new laptop. Others seem to be working okay and Komplete has found the instruments it needs but it won't play any of them. Also comes up saying that I have to run the demo, buy or activate. I'm not massively techy - I'm okay as long as things are working - so simple-person language please :)

Thanks for this. I downloaded Native Access onto my new laptop as well. I just assumed it would download the most recent version - is that not the case then?

Actually, I've just checked the exe file that I downloaded and it is Native Access 2. And this is what I used to download Komplete.

Wish I could help you more, but both my workstations are Mac. Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling Komplete Kontrol from within Native Access?
