Stradivari Violin playing Double Stops (2 notes at a time)

Seem to be finding this quite key sensitive. It is a hit and miss affair between slurred note playing be it up or down, pending on which key is determined to be the winner in the midi race, with simultaneous note playing (double stops) much harder.

I find it plays triads much more consistently. Is there a way to alter the timing on the midi velocity key switching to give a little more room for double stop input?

So ok i tried now with stradivari violin and it is as i said above, i used for example mercato porta and it worked for me like a charm. Press two keys it plays two notes, press another two keys above for exaple and it glides the two notes up - sound amazing btw. Do you use a daw like cubase, then maybe record some notes and have a look how far apart they are if you press two keys simultaniously, maybe there is an issue somewhere else.

i guess he presses two keys at the same time, and want to hear two notes from two strings, instead of a glide on one string. Cause you maybe press two keys not exactly at the same time kontakt interprets it this way, as a glide on one string, instead of the two notes on two strings.

I install it right now and will have a look.

Pretty much it - the timing tolerance for pressing both keys together is quite short before it goes into a glide between notes. 3 notes at the same time seems easier to play. I love the sound of the instrument. Maybe I just have to spend more time with it and try to get used to playing it.

I tried meanwhile with other libraries, like session strings, session strings pro, and the time difference you need between two keys is long in my opinion, more than long enough to play it as you want i would say and i´m not a keyboard player. Maybe you train a bit, as you´ve already mentioned, your timing but i will check that partikular library just to be sure.

I was using it in Kontakt Standalone with the Legarto and Virtuoso key switches.

I try the VST in Reaper and see how that plays. Mercato Porta works more consistently in stand alone mode.

Ok, just tested the VST in Reaper and it plays Double Stop no issues - seems like it is a Kontakt Standalone issue. I will use Reaper from now on even for practice and following my music ideas nose. 😁
