Anyone know of any Komplete compatible software that offers popular 80's synth sounds...?

Dear G.B.,

Don't really know if will fit what you are looking for, but I will suggest you to give a try to Podolski and Zebralette, both by u-He.

Podolski is NKS-Compatible and integrates in Komplete Kontrol, but note that Zebralette is a slimmed version of Zebra, and will appear as Zebra2 in the Library section of Komplete Kontrol Software.

Zebra2 will show you a warning to activate it when running the plugin, but you will be able to load the slimmed version if you open it through the menu in the little arrow next to search button, close to the Komplete Kontrol logo in the software, as shown in the following picture.

It won't be NKS tagged but will work.

Also, note that this method works with a lot of third party plugins.

You can also give a try to TyrellN6, which has a Roland Juno like sound, and also Triple Cheese, which are both free.

To conclude, I will suggest you to also take a look to Analog Lab, by Arturia, which is part of their V Collection, a collection of classic synthesizers and keyboards.

In short words, Analog Lab works as a player and preset manager to the V Collection. Note that it is not NKS-Compatible, but it will work with the method I'd suggested before.

If you want "Exact" Then you would need to get the Original Oberheim OB-x, and dial in the "exact" parameters used by the original artist.

Check out the discoDSP OB-Xd I linked to. Thats about as close as you will get to the original hardware in virtual form.

FM8 can also bring you a lot of that 80’s sound flavor, and if you like to dig into reaktor, the user library is also full of nice recreations of iconic synth such as JuNo, Nordrack and many monosynth . It is not the same route though learning sound synthesis can help you recreate anything on many different tools also. Poly synth in maschine is also great !
