Hello everyone I really need help

i am really out of my depth here, just took delivery of the Traktor Kontrol S2 and I want to set it up for my 13 year grandson for Christmas Day.

i am trying to connect it to my iPad which is an 8th generation.

if I am using an iPad do I need a power supply there is no power supply in the box

any help would be greatly appreciated

Richard.. the Traktor Kontrol S2 is designed to work with either macOS or windows, not iPadOS.

If your grandson will be using it with a Mac or PC running Windows, he should be OK, but setting it up ahead of time with your iPad is not possible.

Hope that your plans for this gift still work out, I'm sure it would be something he'll really enjoy.

The simple answer to this: If you plug something into the iPad and get a message on screen about there not being enough power, then yes you need a PSU.

Keep in mind that Traktor DJ 2, the software that runs on the iPad has not been updated in a few years.

Hello again

i got there in the end, I downloaded Traktor 2 onto my iPad and some other available downloads, i thought I needed to download onto a laptop but the laptop is only to give the equipment some power. All of a sudden my iPad was asking for permission to allow the Traktor to connect and away we went.
