Maschine Mikro MIDI control?

I have Maschine Mikro and would like to use a MIDI pedal to start/stop recording a sample. In looking thru the manual, online, and in this forum, it doesn't look like there is any way to do it. I thought I'd ask directly to check anyway.

    standard midi support for machine mikro would be amazing

    is the only thing that made me sell it as it would be an amazing controller for my ipad

    sadly it only works with ni drivers installed

    Unfortunately, those functions are not MIDI Mapable and only the bigger models have a Switch Pedal input.

    However there are lots of cheap USB pedals that behave as a computer keyboard, I guess you could use one of those to trigger the Qwerty keyboard combos for Record/Play/Stop and maybe even other ones...

    There's 3 pedal combos for like 30 bucks on Amazon, just make sure they can be configured via some software or download some free keyboard shortcut software you like
