How do you get rid of voice echo in headphones while recording audio?

I'm hearing an echo every time when speaking into my microphone. When I turn the GAIN down, the echo goes away, but when I try to record vocals, the sound of my voice does not reach the appropriate threshold to start the recording. Please help.

What audio interface are you using?

Are you hearing the original sound then an echo, or just the original sound delayed by a short period?

    Hmm...

If you use a DAW, maybe, but just maybe, this alternative could help:

To just make a separate audio track for recording, and then drag the recording to the Maschine...

Let me know if it helped.

@Maine Make sure you're using the ASIO driver with your Behringer and that you have that selected in Maschine. If you're already using those check that you're not using any plugins that add a lot of latency. Are you using direct monitoring on the Behringer?
