This is the message i am getting
I went to the store yesterday and they exchanged it for me. It turned it was that specific keyboard which was dead. I am up and running and i love it! Thank you all for your help.
Are you connecting it with a usb-c to usb-c cable connection? If you're using a usb-c to usb-a cable you need to have a power supply connected to the power input as well as a usb-a cable won't provide the necessary power

Thank you. It did not come with a separate supply. i am using usb c to usb c, the one that came with my s49 but still no joy
i had this same issue with a mk3 keyboard i spent a while last night troubleshooting. It wasn't turning on at all, despite using the usb-c cable directly into the PC. tried different PC's, a Mac, separate usbc cables and usbc power cables.. no luck. it wasn't turning on, therefore it wasn't registering in the KK software, the driver wasn't loading, and you would never be able to get the firmware to see it.
End result was i packed it back up and returned it to the store.
Oh no
Such a shame! I am returning mine first thing tomorrow , very sadly. I really wanted it to work.
yeah same here, it would have been cool to use it but i just got a used mk2 to go with my maschine plus and that works well. i'm still trying to learn how to use everything so of course, i'm having issues. the main issue i'm having now is that in key mode, it's playing pads just fine, but when not in key mode, you can play the keyboard pads and the lights correspond to the keyboard, but not the other way around. I was hoping i can just play the keyboard and it plays what's assigned to the pads in the keyboard section( rather than the pads in the pad section, where i would have to assign all of them).
But maybe i'm using this thing wrong lol
That sounds frustrating man. I might get the MK2 though i wanted the Mk3 so bad. Did you get a replacement from the store ? I just saw this on the internet streets.....
Yeah i got mine at a local Guitar Center. When i returned it i swapped it out with a mk2 they had in the store and they refunded me the difference( it was like 100 dollars less). Yeah that message box above is what i got, but i think it was a power issue since the keyboard was never recognized by the USB. also, since i have a maschine plus, this wasn't going to work and on top of that, the serial number was already registered to someone else. I was done messing with it at that point
If you're a maschine user, the MK2 is the best keyboard option. Obviously it isnt "new" but it can control machine software including the mixer and samples and everything else. MK3 is a lovely looking piece of gear but it only seems useful if you're using a different daw. For maschine though, MK2 is unbeaten for functionality, all the buttons and features of machine are basically controllable by the keyboard and the screens show all the machine displays
Yup, I learned that the hard way. The mk2 is just what I need for my workflow. Fixed a couple of midi settings and it works really well for me now.
Happy that you have this resolved.... Enjoy your S-49 Mk3!
Thanks. I am. Its a wonderful piece
