Maybe it can be.
I tried to open Hybrid Keys that i got from Kontakt 7 Full version bundle, then i opened Hybrid Keys with K6 player just for fun and it worked.
I am pretty sure you can do it.
If you trust NI's website it says that it works with Player https://www.native-instruments.com/en/pricing/stradivari-cello/ the question is do you believe their website?
