Help with setup

Hi folks. Need a bit of advice.

2 things. I’ve connected my korg kaoss pad 2 through the outputs. And working great through speakers however it doesn’t record into the mix through the internal mic recorder (obv). I get that.

so. How do I get the kp2 into the recorded mix.

I’ve tried messing about with both output settings, GarageBand settings etc.

do I need to record out via booth instead of main output using a mini jack into headphones on Mac? For example. Or is there a step approach via the software.

Any help would be appreciated.

I know very little about MAC but from what I have learned then it could possibly be a matter of having to give the device access or put device on allowed access list in the MAC OS , ref. : Allow accessories to connect to Mac : https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/allow-accessories-to-connect-mchlf779ae93/mac

im kinda hoping its simpler lol. Kaos working great etc on the output. But trying to get it included in the recording

assuming it must be about telling the software to record out to a line out.

or can I put the kaos into the mix before it goes out to speakers and record.
