Komplete Kontrol - Korg Collection UI does not display
I purchased the Korg Collection 4 today after seeing that Korg is listed as a NKS partner on NI's website (https://www.native-instruments.com/en/specials/komplete/this-is-nks/nks-partners/). Apparently Korg Collection 4 does not have NKS support (not a big deal really).
However, the Plugin UI's don't load in Komplete Kontrol 2.9 or 3.0
The UI's load fine in Maschine and Ableton, so this appears to be a Komplete Kontrol issue.

Maybe try a reinstall? What is your system?

vst2 Korg plugins load ui in Komplete Kontrol 2.9, but vst3 versions do not.
reinstalling didn’t fix the issue (both Korg collection and Komplete Kontrol).

OK thanks - I'm on Mac so maybe this is related to Windows drivers/graphics? I have heard of some plugins doing this in KK when loaded in Ableton live on some Windows systems? Is this happening with the plugin version or standalone?

Yeah the NKS files are fine but this is a known issue for well over 12 months and is Windows related and affects only VST3. It has been confirmed by NI as an issue but still apparently a problem in the 3.0 version. Also affects cherry audio.
If you test in the standalone KK it will work but I am guessing you are in a DAW and likely, Ableton since other DAWs work fine, it is an issue with some VST3s within KK but assume this will never be fixed in v2 of KK at least which is very disappointing. Only consolation is the instrument still works and is usable from the KK keyboard

Hopefully it gets fixed in version 3 of KK at some point. It’s disappointing for sure.

Well, who knows. I hope so too but TBH, they have their hands more than full since KKv3 is almost barely functional at this stage and there are a lot of unliked changes in workflow. They had over 12 months already to address it, my ticket is still open on this one. Boggles the mind and still my hope is very, very low this will ever be fixed.

I've just installed the NKS for Wavestation and it doesn't work in the standalone KK, haven't tried with my DAW though. I'm using VST3. Are you saying that it should work with VST2?

doesn’t work how? What message you get?
if it doesn’t work standalone, won’t work in a daw, issue does not sound like this threads issue if you are not using Ableton.

I search with Google on issues with Korg NKS and this one came up. So I thought I might as well post here instead of starting a new thread.
However, I followed the NKS Library Installation Guide.
- Updated my Wavestation plugin to VST3
- Copied database files and preset files to their locations.
- Updated the KK software library User Content.
Then I restarted my computer just for the sake of it.
I'm not sure why there are two folders to copy to the dist_database folder, one called 'korg' and one called 'wavestation' but I assume that both of them are needed. In the 'wavestation' folder there are only two files, 'color.json' and 'shortname.json'. In the 'korg' folder there's a subfolder also called 'wavestation' and in this subfolder there are three files named 'categories.json' , 'color.json' and 'shortname.json'. The 'color.json' and 'shortname.json' are duplicates, as said in two different folders. I checked all folders since it wasn't working and I wanted to be sure that I had put them at their right locations. Then I started to wonder if I had missed some instruction and that these duplicate files mess things up. But I'm not at all into programming, I just tried to find a reason to my issue.
What happens is that I can't find the Wavestation in the browser. It should show up in the Vendors list.
Both VST2 and VST3 plugins are installed.
