Is the s88 Mk3 frame strong enough for a Z-type stand?

Hi. I'm going to purchase the Komplete s88 Mk3. I used to own the s61 Mk2. I had the Mk2 on a Z-type stand and found that, over time, a slight dip was introduced in the middle of the keyboard because there was no support at the center. Is the frame for the s88 Mk3 much more solid to prevent this or is it preferable to get a stand that supports the whole keyboard?

    @Frantz You will not have any issues with Kontrol Mk3 on a Z-type stand. Hope that you enjoy it!

    Pleasse notice: The weight is more than the double of S61.

    Hi Paule, I appreciate your reply, but I was aware of the weight difference. The stand is strong enough to support the keyboard, but my concern is the casing. Since my mk2 showed a slight bend towards the middle of the keyboard where it was unsupported, I'm concerned the same would be true with the new s88 unless the casing is more robust, which I hope. Any input in that regard would be appreciated. I may get a board to sit between the stand and the keyboard, just in case.

    I can't vouch for the new S88MK3....

    But I have owned S61MK1, S49MK2, S88MK2 and I just received a S61MK3 today...

    The S61MK3 has a very impressive feel to its chassis stiffness... solid and substantial as premium product should be.

    I cannot speak about S88 MK3, but I have S88 MK1 and I have it placed on two point stand, for three years and no problem.... It had support in the centre and no support on edges.....

    What you could do, if you doubt the physical stability of MK3 is to place wooden (or whatever) support desk below.

    Thanks, Tim. I am excited to receive it. The 49 and 61 have arrived at the store where I placed the order for the 88, but I am still waiting. This may be due to the fact that I am in Canada. 🙂
