I am thinking that if and when it gets implemented, especially with the smaller variants - it might give Arturia keyboards, e.g. Key 37, Beatstep and Keystep pro, etc. a run for their money. What do you hope to see in Play Assist?

Current offering

Play Assist is already in there from a long time, managed by KK software.

What they are talking about now is the implementation directly in the keyboard (MK3).

Don’t hope smaller variants will get it. They don’t even have the “computer inside” that would allow it.

Eventually they would have to release new versions of those keyboard with the “computer”…which would surely increment the price

I wonder what current offering and the Kontrol Series stated in the title could mean in this context. Okay, to state the obvious Play Assist independent of the KK software. Did the MK3 increased its asking price from the MK2? Sounds like another rhetorical obvious.

Yes, price increased. And by a lot.

    Example: S49 MK2 released ad 599, S49 MK3 is 749

I suspect all things status quo, the new smaller variants would see a price increase too. Chord/scales were not difficult things to implement, think Akai, Arturia and Novation, etc.

Is there some link to where NI directly presents "Play Assist - the Kontrol Series"?

With the M32, I just see the old description of what NI called "Smart Play"...

Smart Play can help express yourself with techniques that you may not have mastered yet – such as chords, scales, and arpeggios. Map your keyboard to a number of different scales, or play chord progressions and arpeggios easily with single keys. For more experienced producers, Smart Play lets you play around outside of your comfort zone, taking your music in a new direction. Either way, it’s a whole lot of fun.

Play Assist has the potential to become a replacement for Maschine.

    Think about it.....

    Then think some more....

Just a coincidence that the dedicated Play Assist buttons are located where Maschine used to be?
