Cant run guitar rig 6 in standalone
Hi i use GarageBand as my DAW and access Guitar Rig 6 thru that, no worries. I used a pretty basic M-AUDIO interface to connect my guitar. Only prob is when i try to use the App in standalone mode (no GarageBand) it doesn’t work. It’s like ive got something set up wrong with my audio settinngs or something. The app loads up no worries, but there is not indication of it receiving the signal from the interface. Any help is much appreciated.

Did you follow the instructions from the manual for standalone setup?
Without more info it's really hard to say why it's not working for you. Can you post screenshots of your audio settings in Guitar Rig?

Hey Eddie_NI
thanks for your reply. ive posted a screen shot of the settings. GR6 sees my audio interface 'USB AUDIO CODEC' which is actually an 'M-AUDIO M-TRACK SOLO' (this is how my DAW sees it as well) but ive got no option to nominate the input line from any of those 4 drop down menus underneath. just reads 'not connected' and I cant change any of them. I wonder if it's something ive done in my midi settings on the computer itself?
Many thanks for any advice you may have to offer.

This is a weird issue that we have not seen before. Is it the same for the ouputs?
What happens if you select a different audio device, like the built in one?

thanks for replying again! the built in one (the Mac itself) gives me the option to use the actual microphone o the comuper. when I try to adjust the outputs, I have at least some options, but nothing effectual. ive attached a screen shot of the outputs tab. Thanks again. I suspect its something to do with there interface im using.

It unfortunately really sounds like there is a issue with your interface. If it does not report the inputs to Guitar Rig we can't use them. This is a long shot, but what happens when you change the sample rate? Do the inputs/outputs then show up?

I'll deep dive and check out the sample rate suggestion. thing is it works fine with the interface when using my DaW (garage Band) GR6 works fine as a plug in there. just not standalone. Maybe I'll try reinstalling GR6 as well? cheer for your help.

When Guitar Rig is running as a plugin in a DAW it does not directly connect to the interface, that is all handled by the DAW itself. What is really surprising to me is that the interface works with your DAW and not with Guitar Rig, we have not seen this before.
Do you happen to have any other Native Instruments software that you could run in standalone to see if it works?

I tried using a free version of Amplitude 5 just as a test case, and it works in standalone mode. not sure what the issue is with GR6. im sure it's on my end though! cheers for help.

Which macOS version are you using?

Somoma, the latest one.

Unfortunately Guitar Rig is not yet officially compatible with macOS 14 (Sonoma). We are currently working on it.

Cheers, but i think theres also an issue with the interface as well.

Another user with a similar problem made it work using an Aggregate Device:

Maybe that helps in your case as well.

Many thanks, I ended up getting a different audio interface and it works a treat in stand alone.
