Modulation Wheel Basic Functionality?

Hello!

I just purchased a Komplete Kontrol A61 and I'm a bit confused with how the Mod Wheel works. Is there a certain way to program it? Or does each instrument have its own parameter set? These questions extend to using the mod wheel on the A61 across other platforms (Reaktor, Kontakt, DAWs, etc)

I've selected Massive's Harp Hippy for example and I can't seem to get the Mod Wheel to do anything with it.

Any general guidance would be great. Thanks so much!

Not all instruments or presets have predefined modwheel (aka MIDI CC#1) assignments. On a lot of Kontakt libraries it will be but not all. For Massive you can MIDI learn any parameter or Macro by right clicking here and moving the wheel to assign it.

The wheel information will be also available in your DAW. In Kontakt, check that CC1 or modwheel is not already assigned to a parameter, if not, you can MIDI assign the modwhell by dragging and dropping the MIDI CC1 to any available parameter in Kontakt:

For Reaktor instruments or effects, modwheel can also be assigned to any available parameter by right clicking and choosing MIDI learn.
