GR 7: Control volume with an external midi pedal

I want to control the volume for each of my presets through an external midi pedal. What bothers me is that I have to re-establish the connection to each preset.

My idea: I save once the volume rack under Global FX. Then I connect the volume with the macros and the respective macro button via Midi-Learn with the pedal.

But this does not seem to work stable.

Is there another way?

You can fully customize the range and also the curve on the Volume component as described in the manual here

    https://native-instruments.com/ni-tech-manuals/guitar-rig-manual/en/components-reference#volume

You probably want to assign your MIDI controller to the "Gain" parameter then and adjust the other parameters (Min Volume, Half Volume, Volume) according to your needs.

Using Macros with components in the GlobalFX should not be a problem. But be aware that Macros are also saved in the presets, so for the scenario you are describing they might not be the right tool.

Can't you put the "Volume" component (from the "Dynamics" components) into the Global FX and directly use MIDI learn on its Volume parameter on the far right?

    Hi @Eddie_NI ,

thanks for your feedback. That works in principle. The big disadvantage is that the control range is always from 0 to full. If I go via the macros, I set a small effective range and thus control more gently.

Independently of your suggestion: Is it not possible to control the volume via Marcos or should one not mix Macros with Global FX?
