Community is missing discussions on products you already own

Is it just me or does the Forum seem more like a marketing tool lately instead of a forum? It's a lot easier to find new product info than discussions on products you already own these days it seems.

Possibly an edict from the new(ish) corporate overlords?

Sounds ok. It is part of the official website ;)

I can't see that. At least not with the POV from a Traktor user.

One thread about the new X1 mk3 and a ton of other threads about all the other gear. Mostly troubleshooting though.

You might read conspiracy into it a bit too much ;)

We haven't change anything lately and if you are looking closely we announce product with discussions directly with the product teams (which members have been asking forever) and not "go buy the new x,y or z"

Literally 95% of the community is discussions on product folks already have.

ps : I edited your title because "forum" was a bit vague

You are referring to sticky threads about X1 and S-series right?

Other than that, discussions about the gear we already own is everyday life here.

The edited title is somewhat misleading, @Matt_NI

My issue is that when I open my browser to the forum all I see is info on products that should be on your product pages and not taking up valuable 'Top of the Page' space on the forum. What you traditionally come to the forum for is now at least one click, if not two, away instead of being front and center like it used to be and how it is on most forums. Pardon my cynicism, but since this coincides with the acquisition of a majority stake in NI by Francisco Partners and the reorganizing of NI into the Soundwide umbrella company, it's hard to read the changes otherwise.

I haven't been a user of this forum for that long so I'm not completely what the focus is "supposed" to be, but I'm getting pretty familiar with what it consists of based on user posts.

Support Help-This is the most prominent category of posts from users that can't seem to get their system working the way they want it to. Although there are a lot of posts in this category not a whole lot happens with many of them because they tend to leave out critical info necessary to diagnose the problem like what OS platform and OS version, the version numbers of the NI components causing the problem, what steps they've taken on their own to correct/diagnose it and so forth. At some point some people (like me) get tired of trying prompt people for critical info like this and don't bother to respond.

Griping and whining about how NI products work - Another big category but not a very productive one. Occasionally someone posts an idea that NI should probably consider, but the biggest problem here is a lack of understanding about what it takes to incorporate new features into a commercial product and mostly they want it by next week. I've learned I'm better off not responding to 80% of these type of posts because it just gets silly.

Staff Updates on Upcoming Releases - THIS is where I'll spend most of my time when it happens, which is rare, because this is what impacts me the most in terms of my planning on my projects. Unfortunately this often gets the overflow from the Griping and Whining crowd which diminishes my interest pretty quickly.
