Is Maschine 2 Software Update a compatible upgrade from Machine 2 Essentials?

I recently got (and am still wanting to keep) my Komplete Kontrol S61 MkII - which comes with Maschine 2 Essentials and Factory Selection.

There are enough features in this update to make me want to get it, but the final step of purchase said something about it only being compatible with Machine 1 users?

Will this even work for my situation?

You don’t even need it. Maschine 2 software exists in one version only. What differs from Essential version and full version is just the full library, which you can have for the same price

Thanks, but I'm still not clear about the Maschine update process.

Given that the version 2.17.4 which comes with the MKII is miles behind the revision numbers that are advertised, I'm contacting NI directly for some answers. Will post what they respond with here.

If I have Maschine MK3, do I have the full library of Maschine? A simple quesiton but I haven't thought about it before.

Ok, I'm not sure about the MKIII but LostInFoundation had the correct answer above. When asking NI if this link will update Essentials, there is no difference in the base program - Just a library update.

Keep in mind that the difference between the Maschine Essentials and Maschine (normal) is the Factory Library. With Essentials, you get a smaller library. The software is exactly the same otherwise. "

if you already own Maschine 2 software, to update to latest version is enough to go in Native Access and you should see all the programs you have installed that have an available update
