Unable to set up Kontrol S61 MK3

My Kontrol S61 MK3 arrived today and I'm trying to follow the setup instructions at ni.de/kontrol-setup. When I get to step 5 to update the keyboard, it directs me to ni.de/kontrol-update which gives me error "404 – PAGE NOT FOUND".

The keyboard won't let me use it until it is updated. Does anyone have a working link to download the firmware updater?

Thanks!

Hi @aatreya Kontrol Mk3 has not been shipped yet and therefore cannot be installed. We'll get in touch with you via DM!

I'm not sure there is any Komplete Kontrol software even available to download as yet for the MK3

Unfortunately, it looks like that link doesn't have a firmware updater for the new Kontrol S MK3 keyboards since they were just released.

Yeah I am pretty sure you have yours ahead of time a bit, the KK software still needs to be finalised and released which I would assume will be very soon but until it's downloadable you prob can't do much unless a mod can send you a pre-release link

Jeff Gibbons received one from NI and it works perfectly. So there must be an software update somewhere or an option to make it work without the update.. Nice review Jeff gave here https://youtu.be/LZwDbd5vos4?si=1ukF2raluIndhCdJ

Not much new except for the cool design. Nice is that you can avoid the outdated KK plugin as you get NKS functionality with Kontakt and maybe with NKS2 compatible plugins from third parties if there are any. Why the mk2 cannot do that is a mystery. Furthermore the live playable aftertouch without having to use the instrument plugin automation is nice to have.

I'm in the same boat. Just received my keyboard, also stuck at this step. Mine came from Guitar Center, and on the label it said "Do not ship earlier than September 12th." Hoping there's a way to actually use the keyboard, even if the firmware is in BETA.

Did you figure this out? NI is now asking me to return the keyboard, but I’ve asked them why and have not gotten a response. This whole situation has been quite disappointing and frustrating.

I'm in the same boat! I was so excited merely to be let down.

I'm in the same boat as well - I've been contacting them about beta software with no response. I was simply pushed to dealer support for supposedly being sent a demo unit by mistake, to which they responded they could not help me.

Still no response about whether mine is different from a non-demo version in any way and if those who received theirs early should be concerned about the functionality of their controllers. I have not received info about being sent the existing beta software their YouTube reviewers are using as a temporary solution.

I stopped getting responses yesterday at around noon. Really poor customer service from Native Instruments. Thinking I will just send mine back and go with another brand.

Update: Matthew on here is awesome and reached out and apologized for the bad support. He clarified the beta software is not even a little bit user friendly so it's worth it just to wait until the official release comes out. I am waiting to hear back about the question of whether those who received theirs early by mistake, or perhaps accidentally received a demo unit, should be concerned, but I should hear today about that. and will post an update.
