Standalone is not a VST - it's an executable (Kontakt 6.exe for example) And yes it will run regardless of what else is on your machine (or missing). Standalone does not care about the VST dll etc.

And if the v5 standalone cannot exist on its own - or even be installed on its own - even back in the old days (pre-Native Access). Unless you deleted something along the way.

If you are 100% certain that the 64bit K5 VST cannot be found - I would not be messing around trying to procure a single dll and hope it works.

The only way to fix this correctly - is to reinstall 5 overtop of itself (via Native Access). I see v 5.8.0 listed in my Native Access app (v3.5.0) right now - let it roll and you should be back up in no time.

@sadicus There is no VST3 version of Kontakt 5, only for version 6 and 7.

There is no way to install only the plugins, you need to install Kontakt 5 from Native Access.

Older projects are not loading Kontakt 5.

What DAW are you using? What's your operation system? Do you get an error message?

got it, just do a Re-Install from NA.

    Win10, DAW: Cakewalk

The standalone of Kontakt 5.6 is installed and works as expected, but the vstx64 is not installed. Only need the Kontakt 5 vstx64.

Do not want to re-install the app or library content.

Well - you can't just do "standalone" and not get the rest of the K5.6 install package.

That K5 x64 VST has to be somewhere.

Sounds to me like it's there - it's just that Cakewalk does not know it's there.

Will the Standalone run without the vst being installed? If so, the vst was deleted.

the only vst on disk is "Kontakt.vst3" and "Kontakt.dll" and it's version 6.
