Okay as the world turns... Maschine 2 is still not loading in standalone mode. I decided to try something simpler than FL Studio, and downloaded a trial of Ableton Live. Kontakt 7 and Maschine both work within Live. I was able to load the Vintage Organ package inside of Live 11 (trial) and play it wihtout issue. Then I loaded Maschine 2 as a plugin within Live and loaded Scarbee Mark I and play that through Live.

I am convinced it is something to do with the Maschine 2 standalone application and the Kontakt 7.vst3 plugin, and perhaps my laptop. I have uninstalled all of my windows updates that were installed +/- 5 days of this problem surfacing...

Have you checked here too and looked for a blocked native app like the scan app: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/protection-history-f1e5fd95-09b4-46d1-b8c7-1059a1e09708

Hey @Tbreezy So yes the files for Kontakt 7 are at the same version. Have you tried the steps here? KONTAKT Crashes

My colleagues should get back to you anyway, this is getting too complicated for a community thread.

@Jeremy_NI Kontakt isn't crashing, maschine is. but only when it is loaded as standalone mode (as a plugin for ableton live it loads fine).

The issue strikes me as something with the VST scanning for maschine. I am a sw engineer by trade, and while I don't know for certain, i suspect that if Maschine is loaded as a plugin, it defers VST scanning to the host (therefore eliminating subsequent scannings by each plugin that can also host). When maschine is loaded standalone it performs its own scanning, where it stumbles on scanning "Kontakt 7.vst3". And that is the only plugin on my setup that is failing. When I remove that from the directory and launch maschine it is able to scan everything and load fine. None of this to say the problem is with the maschine software, the problem may reside in the Kontakt 7.vst3.

If thee was tech document on what happens in the scanning process I would happily read it and see if I can identify any other components of my laptop that could be interfering.

Regardless I think I tried those steps early on in the incident. However I am not certain, I will give them a shot this afternoon after work. and report back

@Tbreezy I hear you, it's just that sometimes some output configurations of the Kontakt vst or vst3 plug-in can cause the plug-in to crash when being scanned by Maschine (or DAW), applying the steps for Kontakt crashes also resets these output configurations. So it's worth a try. I see that my colleagues got back to you yesterday, please send them the files they ask for and they'll be able to help.

@Jeremy_NI i didn't see an emila from support I will take a look - i don't see an email in my email account for them reaching oout on this ticket. They reached out on a firmware ticket, to close it out. Are you sure that it was tagged to this problem? I didn't receive an email (i'll need to see if it was swallowed by junk filter or accidentally deleted), but I was able to hack around and build the URL tot he support ticket and see the request... will run their diagnostic.

I tried those kontkat crashing steps and it was odd.

    1. maschine did load
    2. as soon as I loaded a project w/ kontakt 7 it crashed
